Villa Rita is situated right opposite the spa at Uliveto Terme in a small medieval hamlet called 'Noce' (walnut) by reason of the many walnut trees in the surrounding area. This hamlet is part of the beautiful medieval village of Vicopisano.
The buildings around Villa Rita were once its farmhouses and belonged to the Villa itself as at that time the mansion had strong links with its nearby farms due to the need for fresh food and produce.
The ancient main building goes back to the 1400s and it still holds many of the original features, like the handmade terracotta floor tiles and the beautiful frescoes framing the entire ceiling of the main hall. These riches testify the presence of the noble families from both Pisa and Florence that succeeded one another over the centuries.
